The multidisciplinary Congenital Spine Diseases Program brings together a comprehensive team to treat children with a full spectrum of spinal disorders. The team includes neurosurgeons, spinal surgeons, and rehabilitation specialists who collaborate to provide a comprehensive care plan to support children and families.
Our pediatric urgent care facilities are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., to evaluate, diagnose and treat children and adolescents under age 21 with minor injuries and fractures. Follow up fracture care is then offered within the week with an orthopedic specialist at one of our community-based locations throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
The first and only gait and motion analysis lab in South Florida based in a pediatric hospital. Our state-of-the-art lab uses advanced video and computer technology to measure movement, muscle activity, and forces during walking. As more and more women have ultrasounds during their pregnancies, doctors are diagnosing clubfoot and other limb differences before birth more often. We offer prenatal consultations for orthopedic conditions including clubfoot and other congenital differences.
The wheelchair and DME clinic held once a week, serves children with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions ranging from muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Patients can be evaluated and fitted for wheelchairs, specialized walkers, chairs and bath equipment. There is a multi-specialty group of providers including a physical therapist, orthotist and wheel chair vendors who evaluate the each patient’s abilities and needs.
