Miami Children’s Hospital has been recognized once again as one of the top training facilities in the nation by Training Magazine, ranking 14th among the nation’s Top 125 Training Organizations.
February 16, 2011 –
The Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and the Miami Children’s Hospital formalized an affiliation between both hospitals. The affiliation provides access to pediatric care services for the children of St. Croix and the Virgin Islands.

Three Miami Children's Hospital Board Members became the first official “nurse ambassadors,” shadowing selected floor nurses at Miami Children's Hospital. The board members experienced an in-depth perspective by visiting specific patient care units throughout the hospital while working with the nurses.

Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital Foundation and Kohl’s Department Stores A-Team recently teamed up to host the 2nd annual Family Safety Event. Children and families from the surrounding Schenley Park neighborhood were invited to take part in carnival-like games and drawings as well as information sessions on bicycle helmet and car seat fittings.

The Miami Children’s Hospital Global Health Services program has formed an affiliation with the Moscow Center for Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery and Neurology in Moscow, Russia. Through the initiative, experts at Miami Children’s Hospital are collaborating with their Moscow counterparts to advance surgical care for Russian children with medically resistant epilepsy.

Miami Children’s Hospital announced that it has installed Xhale Innovations’ (XI) HyGreen® Hand Hygiene System in the MCH Oncology Unit. This will be the nation’s first installation of HyGreen in a children’s hospital.

The Bright Spirit Children's Foundation, has donated a new Kidzpace Interactive Touch-to-Play Gaming System to Miami Children’s Hospital. This System will provide therapeutic care to children in the Hematology, Oncology, and Intensive Care Units.

Miami Children’s Hospital and Palms West Hospital, have entered into an affiliation to provide Pediatric Emergency Care in Palm Beach County. Starting October 1, 2010 physicians from Miami Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Room will be providing care to the children in our community at Palms West Hospital.

Global Health Services has collaborated with La Universidad Francisco Marroquin with teaching programs for several years. The interns rotated throughout hospitals in Guatemala for over a year and a half before having the opportunity to train at Miami Children's Hospital.

30 families from across the nation joined together as part of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals Family Advocacy Day. The two-day event included one-on-one Congressional visits, a luncheon on Capitol Hill, a tour of Washington, D.C. and a celebratory dinner to honor the child patients.
