Inpatient and Outpatient Dialysis Care Options
Inpatient Dialysis Services
For children who require hospitalization, our inpatient dialysis team offers around-the-clock care in a specialized pediatric environment. We provide dialysis services for patients experiencing acute kidney injury, complications related to chronic kidney disease, and other complex medical conditions.
Outpatient Dialysis Services
Our outpatient dialysis services provide ongoing treatment in a child-friendly setting designed to support patients and families managing chronic kidney disease. We focus on helping patients maintain daily routines, enhance quality of life and prepare for long-term kidney health.
Dialysis Treatments and Innovations
Nicklaus Children’s offers advanced dialysis treatments for children of all ages, including newborns and infants with highly specialized needs. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has acquired Mozarc Medical’s Carpediem™ Cardio Renal Pediatric Dialysis Emergency Machine designed to support dialysis treatment for newborns with acute kidney injury and fluid overload. Nicklaus Children’s is the first hospital in Florida to offer this technology, helping optimize care for the smallest and most vulnerable patients.
Advanced Pediatric Dialysis Care, Centered on Your Child
Our dialysis services team includes board-certified pediatric nephrologists, specially trained nurses, and dialysis technicians with expertise in pediatric dialysis, including hemodialysis, acute and chronic peritoneal dialysis, and continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration. The team also includes social workers and school liaisons who help support each child’s emotional well-being, education, and day-to-day needs during treatment. Through advanced therapies, compassionate care, and ongoing education, we help children with kidney disease navigate treatment with confidence while preparing for a healthier future.
